Did you know that nearly half of the nation’s fire deaths occur in the four percent of homes that do not have smoke alarms? Half! That is crazy! Obviously having a working alarm installed is a no-brainer, but which one do you buy? How and where do you install it?
Luckily, this Saturday, December 3rd, select local Atlanta area Home Depot stores are partnering with WSB-TV and Kidde for Save a Life Saturday. This is part of Operation Save a Life, a partnership between Kidde and ABC to promote fire and carbon monoxide safety in cities across the country. Experts will be answering fire safety questions and help you decide which alarm is best for your home and family.
WSB-TV is also teaming up with local fire departments and Kidde for Operation Save a Life. Five thousand smoke detectors donated by Kidde will once again be available in the Atlanta area for viewers who can’t afford to buy them. To obtain a free smoke detector, contact a fire department in any of these participating counties to have a smoke detector delivered and installed for free.
During a fire, every second counts. Please take the time this weekend to double check that all of your fire alarms are working correctly and discuss a fire safety plan with your family.
