WAHM Turns SAHM

This post is way overdue!!!!

So back in August I decided to quit my job. As you may remember (here and here) I was having some problems balancing the duties of working at home and taking care of Noah. I found that I personally could not handle it. I was either going to be a bad employee or a bad mom, and more than likely both. So, I decided that I would either have to put Noah in daycare or quit my job. I completely respect working mothers, now more so than ever. I just couldn’t do it. I visited daycare centers and some were really good centers. But, when it came down to it we would rather cut some, ok a lot, of  things out of our budget than put Noah in daycare. We do plan on having one more child in the future so it could be a while before I go back to work, but for now my full time job is being a mom. And man do I have a demanding boss!! 🙂 Eric tried to point out that I am the boss, not Noah, but I beg to differ. 😉

Even though we have cut down on our expenses and I am spending more time couponing, which I already loved doing to begin with (shoutout to Southern Savers), I am trying to do my part to contribute and help my family out. My sister and I have started our etsy store, Doodle Dumplin’ Darlin’ and having booths at local craft festivals. If you look closely in the picture below my two month old nephew, Thomas, is asleep in his travel crib on the ground. 🙂

I'm on the left and Jamie's on the right and you can see both strollers in the background

You can just barely see Thomas on the ground in his travel crib

I’m also hoping to pull in a little bit from this blog. Yes, this is a shameless plug to adds in the sidebar and affiliate links in my posts. I’m hoping that with the extra time, although amazingly there isn’t as much as I thought there would be, I am going to work on a new project for the blog. Right now the concept is to provide a webinar that walks soon to be first time mommies through products and registering. I recently did this for my sister and a couple of friends and I have found that apparently I look very knowledgable or maybe just approachable because couples are constantly asking me questions while registering at babies r’ us. Since I practically live in that store this is often! So I figured I would take all of this knowledge and pass it along to the masses. It will probably take a while to get everything pulled together, especially since Noah just woke up 45 minutes early from his nap and I will have to cut this post short…. But, I am pretty excited about it and hope that it helps all the soon to be mommies out there!!

Before I leave to get my little man, I would like to ask a favor. Please forward this post or share it on your facebook wall to all your friends, but especially to anyone who you feel might benefit from reading this blog. I am really trying to work on getting more readers. 🙂

Thanks!!
