Disposable Diapers = Even More $$$

I have mentioned in one of my earlier posts that I am just beginning to use cloth diapers. Man am I happy that I like using them. Apparently the cost of diapers is about to go up! A recent article in the Wall Street Journal, “Whoa Baby, Prices Are Jumping For Diapers, Other Family Basics”, stated that ” Kimberly-Clark Corp. plans to raise prices on its Huggies diapers and wipes by 3% to 7% while Procter & Gamble Co. announced a 7% rise in prices for its Pampers diapers and 3% increase on wipes.” According to resent studies parents are less likely to switch to a cheaper brand of diapers. This is somewhat true for us. I wouldn’t consider switching to a cheaper brand of disposable diapers because it could negatively affect Noah.

However, cloth diapers are a different story completely! They are better for Noah, they are better for the environment, and they are better for our wallets! It’s a win, win, win situation. That last line is an obscure Office reference for all of those who are Michael Scott fans. 🙂

Stay tuned for my reviews of the different brands we have been trying. I also recently ordered an Econobum from Cotton Babies. These little diaper covers are only $8.95. I really hope that I love them!!!

So, what about you? Will you consider changing from your preferred diaper brand their prices go up? Post a comment below!
