My (Somewhat) New Sewing Machine & A Pledge to Reorganize

Sooooo, you might remember the frequent fights I used to have with the sewing machine from hell. Well last Christmas I got a new one!!! And I love, love, love it!! It is a Brother CS6000i Sew Advance Sew Affordable 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine. I have made some pretty awesome things on it, including these adorable burp cloths!!

Because I have opened an Etsy store, doodle dumplin’ darlin’, I have been exploring the world of embroidery. My wonderful Aunt Linda, from Girls of Grace, has graciously loaned me her Brother SE-270D so I can get some experience embroidering.

As you can see, I am now obsessed. Hopefully I can get some more things listed on Etsy and earn enough money to purchase my own embroidery sewing machine. I hate that I would have to sell my “new” sewing machine so quickly, but I think I will definitely have to upgrade soon.

Now, on to the reorganization. I used to keep my craft/sewing things in the guest bedroom. This did not work for two reasons. 1) When we had company I was unable to get to crafty things or work with my sewing machine and 2) it was a very crowded, dark space which does nothing for creativity. So I have moved things into the front room where my “work at home” office is. And now everything is a mess, well it was kind of a mess before I moved some of my things out of the guest room. So in an effort to commit myself to reorganizing and cleaning this mess up I am going to share my before pictures!!! Please don’t judge! 😉 Hopefully, sometime in the near future, I will be able to share my storage tips and post the after pictures!
