Noah and I have been having some fun lately getting ready for Valentine’s Day! I am all about handmade gifts and cards and I love doing these things with Noah. I’m always looking for easy crafts that he can do with little to no help from me. Well, check out these adorable cards he made for our family members!
Supplies:
Paper Heart Cards
Holiday Stencils
Washable Paint
Ya’ll this is so easy i’m not even going to do a step by step, but I will show lots of pictures. 🙂
First take these adorable Martha Stewart holiday stencils and center them on the cards. I picked these up at Michaels or Jo-Anns and they have come in handy so many times. I love them.
Next have your sweet little one use the washable paint to cover the entire card. Noah is just barely two and was easily able to paint the card. This craft is great for younger toddlers because they don’t need to stay in the lines and can even finger paint it. This makes it much better for them to create really cute crafts. Noah painted two out of the three finished cards and his two looked better than mine!
Once the cards have dried you just have to peel of the stencil and voila! You have a cute handmade card to give to those special people in your youngin’s life. The Crayola paint does tend to dry a little chalky, but this didn’t really bother me because it washed out of his clothes so easily. Also, if you still have a high chair I highly recommend using it! This made clean up so much quicker.
Tip: Use double stick tape to keep the card in one place while your toddler paints. Assuming it doesn’t annoy the crap out of your child, you never know at this stage, it will help keep the back of the card paint free. With the red paint color and Noah’s smudging fingerprints the back of Noah’s cards looked like evidence from a crime scene! LOL
