My #UnStoppableMom

You may have read a few stories, like this one here, and here’s another one, that I have told about my mom, the turkey hunter Phd. She is a wonderful sport and not only does she not disown me for sharing some of her sillier moments with the entire world but she actually shares them on Twitter and Facebook with all of her friends!

While I have told you about what a paradox she is I have yet to share what a truly amazing woman she is.

First, my mom is pretty brilliant. I have mentioned that she has a Phd, but I haven’t explained how she came about getting it. When she was in high school she skipped her senior year and went to college at the age of 17. Throughout the years relationships and then us kids got in the way of her schooling and helping support her family became too large a priority. When my parents divorced my grandparents were living next door and they encouraged her to go back to school and thanks to my stepfather’s continued support I was able to attend all three of my mothers graduations!

Not only is she amazingly smart, but she never stops moving!! I love it when she comes to visit. The lady just can’t sit still! With the birth of each of my children she swept into town like a whirling dervish doing laundry and cooking meals. When my oldest son was only a few days old she shuffled us both into the car chattering about fresh air and getting me out and about. Hands down the best advice for a new mom! She made sure right from the beginning that I was going to be an #UnStoppable mom too! Now my favorite tip to give new moms is to get out of the house with the baby as soon as possible. It is so much easier to do things in the early days because they sleep all the time! And if moms are nervous I always suggest Babies R’ Us! They have nursing rooms and nobody cares if you have a screaming child.

The makers of Children’s MOTRIN® are inspired by all the things Moms do, from quick family meals to keeping the kids entertained on rainy days. Moms may not always realize it, but they are amazing in so many ways. Moms are on call day and night and have so much unique knowledge that can really help other moms. That’s why the makers of Children’s MOTRIN® are asking moms to share this knowledge in the form of tips and tricks that help keep them going. These can be their own tips or those from moms they know, and can be about everything from how they create quick meals for their family to how they keep the kids entertained on a long drive.

The makers of Children’s MOTRIN® are asking Moms to post their tips and tricks to the MOTRIN® Facebook page under each week’s Kelly Ripa question video and for every post, Children’s MOTRIN® will donate $1 to Safe Kids Worldwide, a global nonprofit that provides moms with the tips they need to help keep their children safe. Moms could even win weekly giveaways of $100 gift cards just for posting.*
