It is a goal of mine to teach my boys about helping others. Coincidentally their birthdays occur around times of year that families whose money is tight can find challenging. I am hoping once they get older to add a charitable component to their birthday parties. Noah’s birthday is two weeks before Christmas and Bryce’s birthday is the first week of September. These would be great opportunities to collect toys and school supplies!!
I was very excited to learn this year that the Office Depot Foundation is helping deserving children start school on the right foot.
In 2014, the Foundation is donating 350,000 sackpacks to children in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and a number of other countries through its National Backpack Program, which is now in its 14th year. By the end of this year, Office Depot and the Office Depot Foundation will have given away more than 3.3 million backpacks and sackpacks since the National Backpack Program began in 2001.
The specially designed sackpacks come in seven bright and colorful designs. Each one includes a zippered pouch containing a pen, pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser, six-inch ruler and four crayons. Best of all the sackpacks do not have any Office Depot Foundation or Office Depot logos or markings on them so they won’t look “donated”.
The Office Depot Foundation has provided me with two sackpacks to giveaway to two readers! Use the rafflecopter form below AND leave a comment answering the following question to enter.
What are some ways we can use to teach our children the importance of helping others?
The giveaway will end at 12AM Friday September 26th and is only open to US residents.
