The Ridges – A Mountain Lake Resort in Georgia

The Ridges Resort - MountainLake Resort Georgia

Last month we had the pleasure of visiting The Ridges Resort in Hiawassee, GA!

Promptly upon arrival Bryce made himself at home. You would think by the look of him that we were in the car for a long time but it was only 2 hours from Atlanta! That is completely doable even though it was just me and the boys in the car, Eric had to work. 🙁

It didn’t take long for us to walk down to the lake and check out the view. It was literally a matter of steps from our door. And they have a playground which was right around the corner from our room! The boys had a blast!

There is also a floating dock which expands out onto the lake and the boys could safely watch the fish swimming around in the water below. 🙂

Hands down my favorite part of staying at The Ridges are the beautiful flowers!! I was there in August so I can only imagine what it must look like in the springtime!

My two little hams!

As we wandered around the lodge the boys quickly found the many bowls of fresh fruit! I had to limit them each to one apple and one banana otherwise I’m pretty sure they would have eaten them all.

The main lounge area has an entire wall of windows looking out over the lake and mountains, it was so peaceful. Obviously Noah and Bryce made themselves completely at home. They found a checkerboard and played their own version of checkers. 🙂

 He felt right at home!

At this point in our lives it is always important that hotel rooms are laid out in a way that allows me to place Bryce where he can’t see us. This means that we don’t all have to go to bed as soon as he does. We just have to be quiet. It also means that when he wakes up at 7:00 in the morning he doesn’t see us immediately and insist on getting out of bed. The Ridges had an open closet area around a corner that was the perfect size for the crib they provided, or a pack n’ play!! Perfect!!!

The next morning the boys and I joined the rest of the guests back in the main lounge area for a hot breakfast. Everything was delicious and I learned that disposable coffee cups make GREAT impromptu sippy cups!

See those windows! Gorgeous!

After breakfast we decided to walk around the grounds. The weather was perfect for us and most of the fog from the morning was gone.

The boys quickly found a corn hole game and created there own little game of chasing each other with bean bags.

The resort is beautifully kept and also has villas. We met quite a few other guests that had brought their extended family for a summer reunion.

After a game of corn hole Noah decided he had some spare energy to burn so he ran around the winding paths for about 15 minutes straight with Bryce and I  lagging behind in the stroller.

Here is a photo of our room, can you guess who that is behind the curtain??

Here is the view of our porch. 🙂 Once the boys fell asleep I was able to sit outside on the porch and enjoy the cool mountain air. No going to bed at 8:00! Woo hoo!

We had such a great time at The Ridges Resort. It was a perfect quick getaway for us and all the water activities on the lake make it a great choice for summer. I can only imagine how beautiful is it getting up there as the leaves begin to change!! The resort has two restaurants on the property and a pool. If you are looking for a mountain retreat check out their all inclusive package below.

The Ridges Resort provided me with an evening stay and a meal at The Blue Otter restaurant. All opinions are mine.
